Manufacturing
Promat manages 3 factories in the UK - Blackburn, Carlton and Glasgow, employing over 150 members of staff.
The three sites have gone through significant changes over the past few years to improve the manufacturing operations performance. Major investments in excess of £6m have taken place at all three sites in new plant, processes and infrastructure to support the continued growth of Promat UK. In addition to this, the implementation of SAP has resulted in improved management control of such aspects as inventory management, production planning, purchasing of raw materials and packaging, resulting in a more transparent cost reporting structure, allowing detailed analysis of all areas of spend to highlight areas for improvement.
New Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety Systems have been introduced to ensure the sites comply with their ISO accreditation and keep up to date with changes in legislation. To support this, significant time and resources have been spent on training in such areas as Health & Safety, Environmental & Quality Auditing, L&D Training, Key Management Skills, Team Working to up-skill the entire workforce.
All the investment in plant, processes, procedures and people have helped deliver significant improvement in performance and efficiencies, leading to improved outputs, reduced internal quality defects and hence, customer complaints. This has ultimately delivered increased customer satisfaction, resulting in increased turnover and profitability at all three sites, helping Promat UK to achieve it's year on year growth targets.
The business will continue to invest in its manufacturing facilities to deliver better efficiencies, reduced CDT's, improved customer satisfaction to help Promat UK become the number one choice for our customers.
